Interview Q&A
How long have you been in business?
Neponset Valley Yoga opened in September 2004. Prior to that, I've been providing massage therapy services since 1996.
What is your primary product or service?
Yoga Classes, and Therapeutic Massage
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
As a massage therapist I found myself recommending yoga to my clients, and many asked if I would teach them. I led informal classes based on my own long-standing yoga practice, and then decided to become certified to teach. I FInd that combining these two modalities is empowering for my clients as they can take responsibility for their own health and well-being.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Massage and Yoga in a studio setting, not in a gym or room used for anything else. I am the only regular teacher and therapist, so I develop a relationship with all of my clients. My approach is whole-body oriented, and I work with people in a way that supports their goals and needs: people can choose to simply take yoga classes, or inquire deeper about enhancing their vitality with bodywork or movement therapies.
What type of payments do you accept?
Cash and check
What are your hours of operation?
Monday through Saturday - class times are posted on the website, and appointments for massage or private instruction are scheduled individually.
