Horrible. I'm a long time National Car Rental guy. 6 + years and have the highest status with them. So I was excited when I found out that I could rent from a local enterprise (which are affiliated with National) and not have to go to Boston to rent a car when mine was in an accident. Boy was I mistaken. I call ahead and the person tells me it won't be a problem so I decided to drive down. I arrange it with the guy and he then takes my license, and types in a few things and says I'll see you this afternoon. Sweet.
Fast forward to when I come back. I hand them my debit card with my license and then inform me that they have to run a credit check and hold on my card. Really? I've rented plenty of times with National Car rental with no problems whatsoever. Apparently these clowns don't know how to inform the customers ahead of time. I should also mention the girl in front of me rents with a debit card that morning and no mention of credit check or deposit? Also, I have used debit cards when renting from national, and have never had a problem with it.
I leave disgusted and vow to never go back again. So much for being a 'neighborhood' rental agency. There is a reason I never rent from enterprise as a seasoned business traveler. This just proves it.
Then to top it off, I called to speak to a manager and I was transferred to the clueless sales person I spoke with initially. Who I hang up on only to get the manager to call me back 15 minutes later. Really? I dealt with Hertz some time ago down the street and had a great experience. I'd rather go with them or drive into Boston than to rent from them again
